Privacy Policy

Shaun Moon Photography ("we", "us") is an event photography business based in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it and who we share it with. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). You can contact us at hello@shaunmoon.com.au.

What we collect

• Clients and enquiries: your name, email address, phone number, event details and anything you tell us when you book or ask for a quote.
• Photographs: the photos we take at events, including photobooth sessions.
• Gallery visitors: some galleries ask for your first name, last name and email address before your first download. We also keep a record of which photos are downloaded and the internet (IP) address each download came from, favourites you choose, and requests to take a photo down, with the name and email address you give on the request.
• Purchases: when you buy photos we receive your name, email address and the order details. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
• Find my photos: if a gallery offers it, you can find photos you appear in by taking a selfie. Your selfie stays on your phone. It is turned into a set of numbers (a face pattern) that is sent to our website, compared with the gallery's face patterns, and not kept. The gallery holds a face pattern for each face in its photos while the feature is switched on, and we delete those patterns when the feature is switched off or the gallery is deleted.
• Our team and staff: name, email address, phone number, ABN, emergency contact, equipment details, signed contractor agreements and sign-in history.
• Technical information: cookies that keep you signed in, remember a gallery password or download PIN, and remember that you have registered to download. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking. We count gallery views and downloads ourselves.

How we count visits

Our websites count visits with our own tools. We don't use Google Analytics, Facebook pixels or any other outside tracking. A cookie called smp_v holds a random number so we can tell a returning visitor from a new one across shaunmoon.com.au and its booking, gallery and photobooth pages, and a second cookie, smp_s, groups one visit and lasts 30 minutes. We record the pages you view, the website or ad that sent you, the type of device and browser, and your rough location (city). We don't store your IP address: a scrambled version is used for one day to stop abuse, and after that it can't be linked to you. If you send us an enquiry, we note how you found us with it. Visit records are deleted after 13 months; after that only daily totals remain, with nothing that identifies anyone. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, we don't set these cookies or link your visits together; each page view is kept for 31 days with no id, then only in the day's totals. We never sell or share this information.

Google user data

Our team, staff and clients sign in to our website (app.shaunmoon.com.au) with Google. When you do, Google shares your name, email address and Google account identifier with us.

• We use this only to sign you in and match you to the account we set up for you.
• We store your name, email address and Google account identifier with your account, for as long as you have an account with us.
• We do not access your Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, contacts or any other Google data.
• We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone except as needed to run the sign-in.
• You can ask us to delete your account and this data at any time by emailing hello@shaunmoon.com.au. You can also remove our access in your Google Account settings.

Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

How we use personal information

We use it to provide our photography services, deliver galleries and photos, process orders, run our team and bookings, keep our website secure (including sign-in records and limits on repeated attempts), and meet our legal obligations. We do not sell personal information.

Who we share it with

We use trusted providers to run the business: Cloudflare (website hosting and photo storage), Stripe (payments), Google (sign-in), Studio Ninja (bookings, quotes and invoices) and our email provider. Photographers on our team see the job details they need for a shoot. Some of these providers store information outside Australia, including in the United States.

Security and how long we keep it

Information is sent over encrypted connections, and access is limited to people who need it. Galleries stay online until we close or delete them. Download registrations stay with their gallery. We keep business records for as long as the law requires.

Your choices

You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you, or to have it deleted, by emailing hello@shaunmoon.com.au. If you appear in a photo and would like it removed, use the "Ask to remove" button in the gallery or email us.

Complaints

If you have a concern, email us first and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
